Where To Buy A Used, Refurbished, or Upgraded Mac Mini

Luckily, for those of us not willing to pull out a putty knife or pay full price fore a new Mac Mini, there are many used, refurbished, and upgraded Mac Minis available online. You have a few options to choose from when you are looking to buy a Mac Mini. This article focuses on eBay.

Why buy a Mac Mini on eBay? There are many reasons to.

On eBay you can easily find the earlier models of the Mini. This is beneficial because you may not feel it is worth the price to buy the latest model. Any of the Intel models of the Mac Mini are suitable for a media center. The important upgrade to look for (or plan for) is RAM.

I highly suggest maxing out your RAM on whatever Mini you buy. I haven't personally done it myself but I know doing it yourself involves opening the case with a putty knife. If this is something you aren't willing to do you can buy one on eBay with the RAM already installed or take your Mini to an Apple store or authorized reseller to get it installed.

What I love about some of the eBay vendors is that they have taken Minis and given them as many upgrades as they can. There's much more modification that can be done than what the Apple store offers.
